Woven with native ilala palm by traditional makers using time-honoured techniques, these stunning baskets have a gorgeous coastal feel with their warm tones and beautiful weave, and are perfect as plant holders, craft and toy storage, table decor and more.
Siansalama dancing baskets are a tight, uniform weave, named after their weaving cooperative of rural female artisans in Southern Zambia. Generally the baskets feature four to five curves, do not have the contrasting band, are generally lighter in colour and can be woven up to 90cm wide diameter! See our Siabaswi dancing baskets for a smaller, more intricate weave featuring more curves and usually a contrasting band of weave around the top.
These gorgeous dancing baskets are handcrafted in the Southern Province of Zambia, home of the stunning Victoria Falls and Zambezi River. Each basket is unique, created with sustainable materials and empowers artisans to continue their craft while supporting their families.
